Every year, in August, #TheSealeyChallenge calls on poets and poetry lovers to read a collection of poetry every day. It started in 2017, when poet and director of the Cave Canem Foundation, Nicole Sealey, challenged herself to read a poetry book every day for the month of August.
She posted about it on social media, asking if anyone else would join her. The response was positive and #TheSealeyChallenge was born.
The Challenge, which now has participants all over the world, is an especially good way for poets to show support for fellow scribes by reading their work.
